1950s INGERSOLL 5 JEWELS
This beautifully kept Ingersoll 5 Jewel timepiece, made in Great Britain in what we believe to be mid 1950s, is a military style watch of elegant standards. Navy sword shaped hands rotating through a beautiful champagne coloured face and plated case, complemented wonderfully with the brand new military inspired khaki NATO G10 strap.
A characterful piece of mechanical history, designed for function and utility, with a natural patina unique to the age and origins of this beautiful wrist watch.
Old pre-owned watch, in a lovely condition. The stainless steel case & crystal has recently been refurbished to a wonderful standard, preserving the patina of the watch held inside. Please bare in mind as with all vintage items the watch will show signs of age and wear, but we believe this adds to the character and appeal of a piece of mechanical history to enjoy on the daily. Keeping good time for its age, within 1 min approx when tested to 24 Hours, requires movement through natural usage on the wrist to ensure consistent time keeping. Not sure of the watch’s last service, as with all vintage timepieces it might need a service to keep running over it’s long life, I cannot guarantee sustained functionality.
Fitted with a brand new aftermarket Nato G10 strap, inspired by the original British Military of Defence issued watch straps. The Nato G10 straps from inception, were designed to be both functional and fail safe. This strap is constructed from a woven nylon, with heat sealed edges and holes, complete with satin finish stainless steel buckle and hardware.
