Design Story
The Brierley takes its cue from the traditional canvas tote. An uncomplicated shape, an open main compartment and a format that’s always been easy to live with.
We kept that simplicity at the centre of our design, then gave it more scale, more structure through the material itself, and a few carefully chosen details where they add real value.
The result is a 27-litre waxed canvas tote with genuine leather detailing, pieced together with reinforced stitching to shape internal pockets and a generous open format.
Familiar in principle, but better suited to the demands of everyday carry.

Waxed cotton canvas helps resist moisture and light rain, best suited to everyday use in changeable conditions.
Leather accents add structure and contrast to the waxed canvas construction.
Two pouches and a zip pocket keeps phones, keys & small items in reach rather than falling into the main section.
Leather handles are lined with soft cotton on the inside, with a 25cm drop for carrying by hand or over the shoulder.
A press-stud fastening keeps the top together without adding bulky zips or unnecessary hardware.
Materially Different
Waxed canvas gives the Brierley much of its character, but the appeal is practical as well as visual.
Dense cotton canvas is treated with wax to help resist moisture and weather. Reinforced stitching adds strength through the construction, while the fabric remains flexible enough for the simple, open shape of the bag.
With roots in maritime use going back to 16th-century Scotland, waxed canvas has a long history as an outdoor fabric. Its time-tested durability made it a natural fit for us.
The Brierley Tote is available in three understated colourways, each designed to develop its own character as the waxed canvas ages.
