Is my waxed canvas bag waterproof?
While waxed canvas is highly water-resistant and excellent at protecting your belongings from rain and the elements, it is not fully waterproof. While it handles light to moderate rain and moisture effectively, it can become soaked if immersed in water for too long or exposed to standing water/high pressure, which may eventually seep through seams.
How do I clean my tote?
To keep your bag in top condition, please avoid machine washing, which can damage the wax finish and the structure of the canvas. Instead, spot clean any dirt or marks using a damp, soft cloth. If needed, use a very mild soap solution and always allow the bag to air dry naturally.
How often should I re-wax my bag?
To maintain the bag’s water resistance and premium finish, we recommend re-waxing the canvas periodically. You will notice the fabric naturally developing a beautiful patina over time, and a fresh application of wax helps preserve both the look and the performance for years to come.
Will the wax rub off on my clothes?
Our waxed canvas is carefully finished to ensure a stable, high-quality feel. It is designed to be ready for daily use, though we recommend being mindful of the surface when the bag is brand new or freshly waxed.
What if my bag gets creased?
One of the unique characteristics of waxed canvas is the “weathered” look it develops over time. Creases and fold lines are a natural part of the aging process and add to the character of your bag. We advise against using an iron, as the heat can melt the wax coating.
